5 Year Check Up

Anne Grace had her 5 year check up today with Dr. Mukundan. She turned 5 two months ago and we are just now getting the check up. It's so hard to believe she is 5! Probably most people reading this blog know that we pulled AG out of her preschool about a month ago due to some concerns we had with her teacher and with the administration of the school. She is staying home now and doing great things (we are all really happy with this decision). Today Dr. Mukundan asked her what was her favorite part of being 5 and she answered, "Not going to school." She was saying it sincerely- not in a sassy way like she was skipping school for fun. This of course- only affirmed our decision. Dr. Mukundan thought AG was doing so well. She is riding her bike without training wheels, tieing her own shoes, reading books, sounding out words, writing letters and words, counting, and just learned how to snap and jump rope. We have also noticed lately how much older it feels like Anne Grace is getting. She understands so much more now and it is so much fun to be with her- laugh and talk with her.

Painting Project

Jason attended an art class last night at USN and brought home an original landscape. Anne Grace was so impressed with Jason's work, she wanted to make one just like it. She set it up and asked me to tell her the steps Jason had done to create his painting. Of course, Jane got in on the action also.
Covering the canvas...
Anne Grace carefully counted the number of clouds Jason had painted and then painted that many on her own. She mixed colors and tried to replicate the many colors she saw in Jason's.

Is it Halloween?

What do you do on a cold winter day? Dress up like a pumpkin!

Hanging out- watching Mamma Mia and eating popcorn together.

Snow Day

We woke up bright and early to the little snow that Nashville received last night. So at 7:40 am we headed to the park to sled down the big hill before the snow melted.
