Naturalist and New Do

Anne Grace before her naturalist field trip. High of the day was, according to her, getting to "climb a mountain under a bridge and then slide down." She also saw a snake on their trip. They visited the Ensworth High School campus for this outdoor trip.

She wanted her hair SHORT- she said.

Coloring bus sheets from Cheekwood. They were left from an art project over the weekend. Today Jane and I went to the Cheekwood art time and she made a Latin American bus. There is an exhibit there now about Latin American proverbs and in Latin America, they put different proverbs on each bus. Jane's said, "Little by little, one goes far."

Singing...

The last one I posted I thought was Jane singing the ABC's but instead it was of Anne Grace singing a smashing version of Twinkle Twinkle. She is such a character- always working for the laugh. Anyway- this is the one of Jane singing ABC.

Catching up

First day of dance class! First tap shoes also

Enjoying some yummy ice cream. The girls both have sore throats so they are on an ice cream, popsicle, and anything else cold diet.

At a recent "Monkey" party - she asked the face painting woman for a princess on her cheek and the woman said, "I'll make you into a princess!" This was the result. I don't know how I feel about it...cute, but she looks so much older!

Goofy!

New Pictures

I'm terrible about posting pictures lately. But...the picture above is from Hilton Head. All the kids were lounging in the twin beds.
Anne Grace made a VIP card at ChuckieCheese and loves it.

Easter Egg Hunt

We went to the Belle Meade Easter Egg Hunt yesterday. Both girls had fun hunting for eggs. Jane was elated and kept saying "egg" and "gum" (because she found gum in the egg). Anne Grace saw many of her friends there also.
AG and friends

After a long day of hunting eggs and seeing a play at the Nashville Children's Theater, Jane was exhausted and covered in chocolate.

5 Year Check Up

Anne Grace had her 5 year check up today with Dr. Mukundan. She turned 5 two months ago and we are just now getting the check up. It's so hard to believe she is 5! Probably most people reading this blog know that we pulled AG out of her preschool about a month ago due to some concerns we had with her teacher and with the administration of the school. She is staying home now and doing great things (we are all really happy with this decision). Today Dr. Mukundan asked her what was her favorite part of being 5 and she answered, "Not going to school." She was saying it sincerely- not in a sassy way like she was skipping school for fun. This of course- only affirmed our decision. Dr. Mukundan thought AG was doing so well. She is riding her bike without training wheels, tieing her own shoes, reading books, sounding out words, writing letters and words, counting, and just learned how to snap and jump rope. We have also noticed lately how much older it feels like Anne Grace is getting. She understands so much more now and it is so much fun to be with her- laugh and talk with her.

Painting Project

Jason attended an art class last night at USN and brought home an original landscape. Anne Grace was so impressed with Jason's work, she wanted to make one just like it. She set it up and asked me to tell her the steps Jason had done to create his painting. Of course, Jane got in on the action also.
Covering the canvas...
Anne Grace carefully counted the number of clouds Jason had painted and then painted that many on her own. She mixed colors and tried to replicate the many colors she saw in Jason's.

The finished works of art.

Is it Halloween?

What do you do on a cold winter day? Dress up like a pumpkin!

The girls

Hanging out- watching Mamma Mia and eating popcorn together.

Snow Day

We woke up bright and early to the little snow that Nashville received last night. So at 7:40 am we headed to the park to sled down the big hill before the snow melted.
