Happy Halloween

Tonight Anne Grace dressed in her pumpkin costume to go trick or treating. Jane wore a gown with a pumpkin embroidered on the front. We went to our neighbors' houses and then onto Richland and Central Avenue- which was a little wild! Anne Grace had so much fun though (we only visited maybe one block on the streets). She came home, sorted her candy, had one piece and then asked for some cheese.

Jane had her two week check up on Tuesday. Her birth weight was 8 pounds 14 and 3/4 ounces. On Tuesday she weighed 9 pounds 8 ounces! So apparently she is growing! Dr. Mukundan said she looked great.

Also- just a funny story about Anne Grace... lately Anne Grace will start telling a story and she begins by saying, "This is something my grandmother used to do." or "My daughter used to do this." or "Sometimes my mother would make this." All of the stories are typically made up, but Jason and I crack up as she starts a story like that. Recently I told her stories about when I was a little girl - such as when my mom gave me honey and lemon for a cough. I think that's where she is getting it.

Day in the Park

We had a fun day at Granny White Park on Sunday afternoon. The weather was beautiful!

Had a Bad Day

Tonight we were singing songs to Jane- some of Anne Grace's favorites like the Christmas song, We Three Kings and Baa Baa Black Sheep. Then Anne Grace had the great idea to sing Had a Bad Day to Jane. So I caught it on video. Jason and I love the heartfelt ending, "You just turn it around." as Jane is crying.

Anne Grace is so great about being gentle with Jane as she holds her.

It was Jane's first time in the bouncy seat. Anne Grace sang to her and showed her how to bounce.

Curly Hair

Tried to get a picture of Jane's curly hair- very curly hair. It straightens when she has been sleeping on it or has worn a hat, but left to dry on its own, it is curly curly.

Help from Anne Grace

While bathing Jane yesterday, Anne Grace kept her entertained. Jane had the hiccups so Anne Grace said "hiccups" in a funny voice - with a washcloth on her head for an added effect. Jane really watched Anne Grace and seemed to enjoy the show!

Jane Edwards Hooper

Jane Edwards Hooper was born October 16th at 2:23 pm. She weighed 8 pds 14 and 3/4 ounces. We are home from the hospital and doing well! Anne Grace loves holding Jane. Last night Jane was awake as Anne Grace was getting ready for bed so she said, "Jane- watch this. This is is how you put on your nightgown." She sang songs to her as she rocked her in the chair. She is excited to have her sister home!

Playing "this little piggy" with Jane's toes.

Jane has lots of sweet dark hair!

Pumpkin Patch

We visited Gentry's Pumpkin Farm today- along with hundreds of other families! Anne Grace enjoyed the hay maze and tire swing. She also picked out two pumpkins.

Anne Grace's Bakery

It's not a secret that Anne Grace loves to bake. While flipping through the Hearthsong catalog recently, she fell in love with a cupcake baking set. Every day - many times- Jason and I would be asked to read the complete description of the cupcake set. We ordered the set and it finally arrived yesterday. Today we made our first cupcakes! She was thrilled to be piping icing onto her cupcakes just like our friends at the Sweet 16th Bakery close to our old house.

Learning the ropes of piping and loving it. Big smile...

Some of the finished creations- with flowers, smiley faces and a few random designs.

This piping tip made "seashells" she said so it was a big hit.

Sampling the fruits of her labor.
Still awaiting Baby Hooper's arrival. If she hasn't made her way into the world by Tuesday, I will be induced. Just a few more days!

Day at the Zoo

We went to the Nashville Zoo last weekend with Edward and Rebecca. Anne Grace was excited to have Uncle Edward riding the carousel with her - even though Edward chose the smallest animal, a river otter, to ride!

Cooler Weather

It was actually cool enough to wear a long sleeve shirt a few weeks ago! Just a pic of Anne Grace at Parmer Park.
