More Christmas

Whenever anyone asked Anne Grace what she wanted for Christmas, her response was always "a vet thingy." It was a set of vet tools complete with two animals to work on. It was her final present to open and she loved it.
Jane on her first Christmas.
Later that day Jason's parents came to visit and brought Anne Grace a red scooter. She loves it.

Christmas Day

A new doll...
a grill with a rotisserie chicken and sizzling sounds (a special request from Anne Grace to Santa),

a microphone,
and lipstick. Anne Grace was having a blast opening her presents and Jane's also.

Holiday Cheer at the Vanderbilt ER

Our Christmas Eve was eventful this year. We had a gas leak in our house and possibly carbon monoxide, so we ended up taking Jane to the Vandy ER that night to be tested for carbon monoxide in her blood. She turned out to be fine, but it was a long day. Everyone at Vandy was so nice to us- and especially to Anne Grace. Jane did not have so much fun having her blood drawn nor did I watching it happening, but we made it. We did have our gas shut off because of the leaks, so we didn't have heat that night or the next, but space heaters helped us get by. Eventful- but certainly memorable. Smiles- even in the ER.
So great that babies bounce back so quickly. Thirty minutes of screaming and then smiles once it was over.

Anne Grace singing at her class Christmas show

Anne Grace's holiday party

Anne Grace's class had a holiday party. They sang about three songs for us and had some food at the end. Her class is so sweet. Her teachers are also just wonderful. She loves it.

Jane smiling

I captured Jane making some sounds and really smiling on video. Anne Grace was watching Dragon Tales while I was filming- so you will hear that in the background. Like Anne Grace, Jane loves to smile.

Gingerbread House

Kim sent us the goodies to make a gingerbread house last week. Anne Grace, Jason and I all pitched in to complete the house. We had fun putting it together.

The Princess Party

A friend in Anne Grace's class invited all of the girls to her Princess Party. It was adorable to see all of the girls dressed in princess attire. Anne Grace loved it!

Getting Ready

Anne Grace was more than excited about decorating the tree. Unfortunately, as most of us know, the prep work to get to the exciting part takes forever in the mind of a three year old. The tree stand, the best side of the tree, is it straight yet, the lights, the lights, break for dinner, and the lights again...it all takes too long. Anne Grace tried to be patient. Finally it was time to hang the ornaments. She was most excited about hanging her ornament and Jane's. Ornaments were strategically placed such as the mouse hung close to the floor because "that's where mice like to be." We had apple cider and homemade pumpkin bread during the decorating and Anne Grace asked us to cheer one another with the mugs.
Some of my favorite branches with many ornaments on each. The poor branches were carrying a little too much weight so some rearranging was done later. (However the next morning I was quizzed on why the ornaments were not where she had placed them.)

The Artist

Anne Grace was painting a few days ago at the kitchen table and having such a great time. I asked her to look at me so I could take her picture and she nicely said no because "artists don't look up, mommy." So...only action shots of this artist.

Storytime

Today it was so cold! We had to get all bundled up to go to storytime at the downtown library so Jane wore a hat of mine from my baby days. During storytime Anne Grace leaned over to me and said, "Mommy, I like Jane alot."

The Girls

Jane was giggling!

Shower time

Anne Grace has been taking showers lately (by choice) instead of baths. But- she doesn't like anything in her eyes so she wears goggles. It is pretty cute to see her washing her hair around the goggles.

Happy Thanksgiving

Anne Grace loved helping PopPop with Willy Bird, the turkey.

Anne Grace enjoyed the rolls, green beans, and cranberry sauce.
Anne Grace loves to vacuum!

Jane's First Bath

Jane's belly button finally came off! I was thrilled to finally be able to give Jane a real bath. Of course, Anne Grace was the most excited. She had hoped Jane would be able to get into the tub with her but we convinced her she needed to take a bath in the little tub for a few months. Anne Grace loved helping during the bath- washing Jane's hair and putting soap on Jane. Jane loved it!

After the bath Anne Grace read one of her new books to Jane.
Curly hair!

Brown Eyes

As we were leaving today I snapped a few shots of Anne Grace and her very brown eyes.

Anne Grace's Post

Anne Grace is helping us post this so she wants to write (in her own words!) - "This is Anne Grace's pictures. I think it's Jane's pictures too. I love you. I miss you. I think you're a great pencil writer. Amen." What else can I say?
